Thought I would break the news, that the match staff has agreed to open up the State Championships to Carry Optics. We will follow the provisional rules as set forth on the IDPA website, and will give awards based on the suggested awards breakdowns for this division. Please feel free to switch your registration on practiscore if you want to shoot the match with a carry optics gun.
Also, we are slowly filling the match, and might be able to open up a few more spots if needed. As it is, I am pleased with the acceptance of FAS as a good place for a state championship. Over the next few months, we will be working on props, (mainly wall sections) to be able to have a reasonably well-defined set of stages that cannot be "Gamed." The new "shoot any target you can see" has sure turned stage design up-side-down. I figure we need at least 50 wall sections to create the stages we are submitting for approval.
We ran a couple more of the stages at our last club match, and they were well-received and we do not need to make any radical changes. We will toughen them up, though, with no-shoots and hard cover, as we will do with all the stages.
